Ever Loyal

Remember these words from the song "A Faithful Band" that say, "We'll ever loyal be to thee, our own KD, our own KD"? From these simple but powerful words KD has created the Ever Loyal program to remind each sister of the loyalty she pledged to the sorority at initiation.

The Ever Loyal program was introduced this summer at the National Leadership Conference. The program is designed to remind of us of the ideals and values of KD that transcend time and space. Because Kappa Delta membership is a lifelong experience, being loyal to the sorority and its principles is always relevant.

Shamrock - n - Run

I am very excited to announce that our Shamrock Project this year will be a 5K run along Peachtree Road on March 12th at 8am. We are working with Thrive Fitness and the route runs through the heart of Brookhaven and Buckhead.

The run is free, but a $10 donation is suggested. For those runners donating $25 or more we will be giving you a KD Koozie to show our appreciation. All proceeds will go to support the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children.

We need YOUR HELP! We would like to give out raffle items to those that donate, but we need help with raffle items. If you own a business, have connections with local business owners, have an item/service you want to give or would like to ask local businesses to give we need you! We also need people to post flyers around town and invite other runners. Again you can email me for a flyer. We will also have flyers at all upcoming events for you to take.

Join us at Twist for happy hour and dinner this Tuesday at 6pm. Hopefully, Mother Nature won't change our plans again with more snow! We look forward to seeing everyone and if you can't make it by 6pm feel free to stop by when you can. Just ask for Kappa Delta.

Free Bootcamp

Many of us make New Year's resolutions to lose a little weight. If you are among the many, there is a gym in Brookhaven offering a free week of bootcamp style classes. Thrive Fitness, who will also be partnering with us for our Shamrock Project is located at 4276 A Peachtree Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30319. Thrive is a boutique gym and also offers personal training.

Happy Hour New Date

Due to the weather we changed our Happy Hour and Dinner Kickoff to January 18th. It will be at Twist beginning at 6pm still, but just a week later! We hope everyone is staying warm and we look forward to seeing you next week.

2011 Kick-Off Event

Join us for our 2011 Kick-Off at Twist on January 11th. We will be starting with happy hour at 6pm followed by dinner. Feel free to stopy by at any time (just ask for the KD group)! We look forward to seeing everyone and hearing about your holidays.

Help KD Win $250,000

National Kappa Delta has submitted a grant for the Pepsi Refresh Project. Pepsi is giving away millions to fund ideas that have a positive impact. KD is hoping to be given $250,000 to host a Confidence Summit for girls on behalf of the Confidence Coalition and Kappa Delta Sorority. The plan is to host a two-day summit where girls across the nation come together and create a social action project that will impact women and girls on a national and global level. In order to win the $250,000, the KD project must finish the month in the top two of all $250,000 submissions.

Details:

- The voting cycle is Jan. 1 – 31.

- You can vote once a day by visiting www.refresheverything.com and searching for "Host a Confidence Summit for Girls."

We hope you'll help National KD by voting once a day and spreading the word to friends, family, KD sisters and co-workers through e-mail, facebook, twitter, blogs, etc.

Receiving this grant would be a wonderful thing for KD and the Confidence Coalition!
